A dicotomy of a chess set combination that really works. We have combined our very traditional Staunton style Windsor series chessmen in solid Ebony and Boxwood with our new ultra black, modern Maple deluxe chess board.
If you require a strong contrasting chess set that works in both a traditional and contemporary setting, then look no further.
The Windsor pieces are superbly proportioned and nicely weighted for their size. Hand turned and naturally polished Ebony, these pieces display some of the classic characteristics of the original Staunton design, but have some more contemporary lines and curves that bring them to life. The chessboard employs the latest quality lithographic printing techniques to deliver rich black squares on a solid veneer of quality light Maple. The board is then beautifully matt lacquered with a unique grey wood underside. In all, a really classy chess set look that has that timeless quality.
